Le Salon Vert will welcome an exhibition of recent work by the American artist Carol Prusa.Carol Prusa works with the traditional technique of silverpoint, which she combines with a contemporary vision. Working on transparent acrylic or wooden panels, she draws geometric motifs which follow their own internal logic and are unique and different in each work. To create her designs, Prusa is inspired by quantum physics and the atomic structures of matter, which reflect her perception of the interconnectedness and links between worlds, from the microscopic scale of the atom to the cosmological scale of the universe. She references Galileo’s quote from Il Saggiatore: “The universe is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles and other geometric figures.” Carol Prusa is inspired by great scientific theories which then inform the poetic language she uses in order to express the strangeness and the vital beauty of what is possible.
