After “Léger Voyage” (2009) and “Un toit pour les esprits” (2012), Françoise Kohler continues exploring Japanese territory. This new tiny publication is a synthesis of a collection build in time – of images, objects and writings.
L’expérience du paysage consists of sixteen blown up images of Japanese stamps with natural motifs such as landscapes and seasons. The accompanying text aims to understand the particular relation of Japanese with nature and the different perceptions of landcape in Western and Eastern culture.
Françoise Kohler(1965) studied at the l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Genève and has a Master in psychology and psychomotricity. Video, writing and photography are her means while exploring the world and merging into her petite and poetic surveys. Françoise Kohler is living and working in Geneva.
