Sue Williams A'Court
And know the place for the first time
3 March 2018 - 14 April 2018
Opening on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th March. An introduction of the exhibition by writer and art historian Laure Mi Hyun Croset will take place on Saturday 3 March at 4.30 pm.
On the occasion of ArtCarouge in March 2017, Le Salon Vert will exhibit British artist Sue Williams A’Court. She references details from Arcadian landscapes of historical works to create paintings presenting landscapes of our own imagination; a state of mind rather than a location. The work invites you to lose yourselves in a contemplative reverie in which you no longer feel wholly separate from what you observe.
“As a response to anxieties about the world I’ve been thinking about what an alternative reality would be – offering a visual trigger for an experience – a solace or antidote.”
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
“Little Gidding” by T.S. Eliot.
